With the world opening back up due to a rise in vaccinations, it’s clear that we’re ready — and desperately in need of — a vacation. What better way to escape than renting a home away from home? Airbnb, an online marketplace connecting renters (hosts) to traveling individuals seeking accommodation, is becoming increasingly popular with long term stays — specifically for digital nomads and creatives, and it’s an app that I’m particularly obsessed with. The perks of renting an airbnb are plenty, including the option to have a friendly host who knows the lay of the land if you’re renting a shared accommodation, or having everything you need in one place if you are traveling independently. Airbnb’s are often much cheaper than hotels, provide attractive discounts if staying monthly, and has the added bonus of living like a local. Some of these European locations listed below are so cheap, you don’t have to miss out on all the perks provided to digital nomads and creatives, you just have to pick a city and pack your bags!

#1. Belgrade, Serbia — average €500 per month, or €26 a night
